Lousy workmanship, slow to deliver, dishonest subcontractor ; the glass door people tried to hide a fairly obvious chip from us. When we discovered the chip, they claimed that the chip will not be that obvious beneath the rubber seal, doesn’t keep to appointment. Think they know that my husband is more fierce. They came unannounced and tried to catch me off guard. Of course, they were chased out of the house and had to come back another day to install a new door.
The PD door people gave us a nightmare! The sales lady forgot to tell her installer that I need a track for the door in bathroom. They had to still install the door because the carpenter had already removed the old door earlier. The ID then got the carpenter and the PD door people to come in on another day so that the carpenter could board up the door and the PD door people could remove the door back to their office so that they could custom-make the track.-_- which means they will need to come back another day to reinstall the door. As if this is not bad enough, they came back some days later and installed a door full of scratches. We told them we will not accept the door since it was scratched. Again, they say they will install the scratched door first and do a one for one exchange. So, arrangement was made for another day for them to bring a brand new door.
It came and there was a scratch on the new door. By then, we were already beyond incensed. When the husband pointed out the scratch to the installer. His reply was, ” made in China, cannot expect it to be perfect”. We hit the roof. Perhaps we should pay them in renminbi. What’s worse, the lock appeared used , either that they did
Not bother to file the lock smooth. They installed the door again. ( this is the third time already, and every installation, means extra cleaning ) we complained to our ID and they got the saleslady to come and look at the scratch but the saleslady could not give us any solution and another day was set aside for the boss to come in to survey the damage. He came and promised us another new door which was eventually delivered. He personally supervised the installer to ensure they did their job properly. If you are still following this drama. ( I think can write a script to match ｟爱｠）. It took 4 installations before we received a working, unscratched door. They had to come in 7 times in total!

Painter also no good. Rushed and did a sloppy job. They thought we wouldn’t check below the cabinet. But we did. A huge patch was half painted. Looked like the painter did his job halfway. Missed out painting my toilet ceiling. .. ID company from hell. The ID himself was ok when we engaged him in 2006. He was with Orange Cube then and the workmanship was excellent. I mean so good that a few of my colleagues signed up with him after seeing the work done in my house. Then he left OC and joined this B**** 23.. Now I know, It is not just the ID, but the company is just as important. No matter how talent and creative the ID, if the subcontractor cannot materialize your ideas, it all gone.

The entire Reno experience was horrible at the least. It was suppose to be a minor renovation to add some storage space in the living room and change the toilet doors.. It took months to complete. Even longer than the time it took to renovate the entire house the first time round. :p

He can also identify his legs, nose, ears, eyes, teeth, blink his eyes on request, shake your hands and flirt like nobody’s business. Really, he likes girls for sure.

I’m enjoying myself even though I haven’t got much of a social life. It’s fun to watch him grow. I want to thank the husband for being extremely supportive and involved in bringing up our son. Thanks, monkey.

Etude House moisturizing BB Magic Cream ( $30.90)

Read the reviews for this BB cream and thought I would give it a try. It is supposed to give you flawless skin like the kimchi actresses. So, does it? Ok, not flawless flawess lah.. Those kimchi actresses probably spend obscene amount of time in beauty salons slathering on expensive creams and potions to achieve their desirable beauty. But still, I would highly recommend this Magic BB cream from Etude House for the following reasons:
1. Evens out skin tone
2. Application is a breeze with just your finger tips, no special brush or sponge required.
3. A little goes a long way. So 1 tube will last quite a while.
4. It does not streak
5. You need not bother about colour, there’s only one and it is for all skin tones.
6. Not cakey. It feels very light on the skin despite the coverage it provides.
7. Medium coverage. Effectively covers dark circles and redness around the sides of the nose. Not sure abt coverage on acne prone skin though.
8. Skin appears dewy and radiant post application.

I have decided to support kimchi n sushi skincare from now on. I know it will be more convincing if I put some photos to prove but I’m too shy and is pretty sure allllllll cameras hate me. I must tell you I tried.. I couldn’t take a single pleasant looking shot.. I’m Saving you from nightmares..

Spirits exist, what about God? I am pretty sure he does. The husband and I had a near death experience. My fault. I was trying to guide him on his bike through a new route. He is a goner when it comes to directions. It was late and he was tired and worried he might make a wrong turn and I would be annoyed AND he beat the red light, not on purpose of course. The bus missed us by split second, I mean, s.p.l.i.t s.e.c.o.n.d. It was a major junction. We were lucky it was late so there weren’t many cars on the road.

For the next 10 minutes, we rode silently. My heart was in my throat, I don’t know about his. We rode to St Bernadette church along River Valley road. At that time, I wasn’t a believer yet. I did not attend mass or the Novena like I do now.

He knelt down in front of Mother Mary’s statue and started praying while I stood by the bike and watched. Then this incredible thing happened. A white mist appeared above the husband, Swirling right above him as he pray. The spot light seemed to be extra bright but there was a softness about the bright glow, like the halo around the moon when it is going rain.

I looked around the church compound. The air was still, there was no breeze or whatsoever. There was no mist elsewhere in the church. This was not Genting, mind you. I cannot find a logical explanation for the mist . If you have an answer for it, leave me a message.

When I told the husband about it, he was surprised because as he prayed, he had a vision of Mother Mary appearing above him. He described it as almost an out of body experience. He could see himself praying and Mother Mary looking down at him.

We went back to the church to pray many times but I have not seen the mist again. It was one of the most amazing/bizarre experience. I’m inclined to believe in the existence of God now.

The husband was awoken last night by some noise. He opened his eyes to see the door opening and closing on it’s own. He closed his eyes and said his prayers and opened his eyes again. The door had stopped moving. He looked at the time. It was 3.09a.m.

He called me from work today, reminding me to pray before anything. What’s wrong with this house??!!
